Classmate Search Updates
198 of our classmates are currently accounted for (147 w/contact info & 51 deceased)
We currently have 122 classmate email addresses, 70 phone #’s, and 44 mailing addresses.
We’re currently missing contact information for 207 classmates.
While we’re making steady progress on locating meaningful contact information for all of our classmates, we still have a ways to go. WE NEED YOUR HELP on tracking down classmate contact info. Please open the attached list below to see the names of classmates we’re still trying to locate. If you keep in touch with anyone on this list, please email their contact info to steve.laundra@gmail.com or have them or use the contact form on this website. We know that every classmate isn’t going to attend our 50th class reunion, but we want to invite all 405 of us so that EVERYONE can decide for themselves if they’re going to attend. Our contact information priorities are 1) email addresses, 2) married last names if different, and 3) cell phone numbers. Mailing addresses are next best, but they are our last resort. We do NOT plan on communicating via U.S. Mail.
Other Class Reunion details being discussed by the committee
1) Committee member Rick Moore recently put up our very own Eisenhower Class of 76 website. Although the website is in its infancy stage, Rick is very anxious to begin building “our story.” The link to our class website is eisenhower1976.org Once you’re there, click on the “contact” tab to register yourself. Please consider posting pictures, memories, news, etc. Our website will only be as good as our participation. This is OUR website. Let's build it with that in mind.
2) We’re currently in the process of finalizing a classmate survey. Stay tuned for an email that will direct you to a link that allows you to take the survey.
3) Once we’ve surveyed our classmate contacts list, we plan to reserve rooms at a couple Saginaw Twp. hotels. More details to follow on how you’ll be able to book a room when the time comes.
4) We’ve hired a band for our main class reunion event on Saturday night at the Swan Valley Banquet Center in Shields, MI. Slick Jimmy will be playing from 8-11pm.
5) We plan to sponsor some an “Open Mic” event at our Friday night social at Sawmill Golf Club (McCarty & Hospital area). If you’re a musician/singer, comedian, karaoke slut, etc., we plan to open up the mic to have some good ole fashion fun on Friday night. You won’t want to miss this event.
6) The cost to attend our main class reunion event at Swan Valley on Saturday night is $100 per person. We’ve had a lot of discussion on this topic. In the end the committee has agreed that we’re all deserving of a memorable evening that includes a nice venue, a quality dinner, a fun program and a decent rock & roll band. We’ve all paid $100 or more to attend ball games, concerts, weddings, etc. With that in mind, the committee agreed that our 50th Class Reunion should be that kind of an event. With that in mind, the committee has pledged to make our 50th class reunion worth every dollar spent!
7) Cash bars will be in place for Friday & Saturday night, as well as on the golf course Friday afternoon. The committee is not interested in purchasing and/or serving alcohol.
8) Friday’s golf scramble at Sawmill Golf Club will cost $45 per player. Additional fees for a skins game, special contests, 50/50, etc. will also be available to those that want to participate. We will keep you posted on a golf outing registration deadline as this event draws closer. Depending on how many classmates/spouses want to play, we may open this up to other Eisenhower graduating classes (74, 75, 77 & 78). We hope to get professional golfer/classmate Steve Brady on the course for this event.
9) The reunion committee is totally open to scheduling other Friday and/or Saturday afternoon reunion events. If there are classmate groups that want to get together, let the committee know about it when you take the classmate survey. Examples – Special gatherings for HS athletic teams, cheer/dance teams, band, choir, drama, forensics, debate, a fishing experience, elementary school classmates, private school (K-8) classmates, a luncheon at a favorite Saginaw area restaurant, etc. What’s your pleasure here?
10) We will be putting together a class reunion program for Saturday night to take place between dinner and the 8pm entertainment. If you want to provide feedback on what to include, or not include, in this program, let us know on the classmate survey. Our program will likely begin with honoring our deceased classmates before getting on with the fun and stupid stuff.
11) The committee has discussed the possibility of having classmates post their biography information and pictures on our class website. We are also very interested in the possibility of running a continuous video of the biographies during our main event. We're currently looking for someone to head this project up. Please contact a committee member if you are interested in working on a class video project.
12) We are also very interested in inviting our school administrators and classroom teachers to any class reunion event they’re interested in attending. We know that Doug Doane and Al Larson are still around, and we hope to get the word out to more school staff through them.
13) Our class reunion attendance goal is 250 guests (That’s approximately 150 classmates + 100 spouses).
As of this communication, we have contact information for 147 classmates. Factoring in our 51 deceased classmates, that leaves us still searching for 207 classmates.
Attached is the current list of the 1976 classmates we’re still trying to locate. If you have contact information for anyone on the list, please email it to steve.laundra@gmail.com or have the classmate email it. Our contact information needs are 1) email address, 2) phone number, 3) married last name. We’re really trying to minimize using US mail as a communication source for the reunion.
